i did like 5 different lists cause not all them where complete enough to my tastes and then i found this MASSIVE tier list (with a lot of crack xdd) so i was able to do it, fortunally the nrmy week gave me some time to work on this and EVEN THEN some kinda obvious ones were missing so i had to edit them in from the other tierlists, plus stuff i made up lol

also, for it not be too long and mark very clearly my Heterosexual Bias, the list was divided in two, so let's start: (spoilers for investigations cause shih-na doest appear as shih-na)

The OTP category is very self-explanitory, so the second place is all other ships that i like and ship too just not as hard since i have OTPs for the characters already~~

Ohters I like and Im listening have varying degrees of crack but im still considering as potential ships to like seriously

the canon ships acting as a neutral divider, they are canon, you can't complain about that (or you can im just a tumblr post you can do what you want forever). if they arent higher is cause they are not as interesting or funny as the above ships, i still love them very much

then theres the absolute crack that i find amusing but couldnt take to ship it seriously and then ships that are either boring: too tame, lack spice, feel like avoiding being problematic was the priority instead of they'd be cute togheter; or ships that feel a bit too cruel for comfort and i percieve as no longer fun, but sad

this tier list didnt have ema/nahyuta but did have poly ships that included the three so there we go, the only het ships i dont like (2)

finally, the only gay ships i consider to be neat, silly funny friends-to-lovers not overly popular, very cool and epic

and finally we reach my real (yet still neutral) beef with the ace attorney shipping fandom, being the popular ships that get talked about ad nauseum and if you wanna talk about any other ship you get ignored at best or harrassed at worst. Overrated could be the perfect way to describe this ships as they're so oftenly rated over other ships when they're SO LAME AND BLAND AND BRING ABSOLUTELY NOTHING. i am not criticizing originality, you know im unoriginal as well, but other fandoms have this something called ✨VARIETY✨ that EVEN IF the boring bland m/m ship still is number one ship of everyone and their grandmas, it'll still be in a relative equal number of fans and content (or directly opposite where Super Popular Ship has like 100 fans producing stuff and literally anything else has like <5, so you only have to block 1 or maybe 2 Super Popular Ships and then is smooth sailing full of variety~)

tl;dr they're annOyedTPs actually they're not bad, they are meh plus the over exposure can really grind someone's gears, second place being not AS popular thus annoying but still pretty much talked about and liked by many people as they are second places to ships in the normie zone

and finally finally what i actually dislike, shipping canonically het married characters with same-sex characters (and not in the funny way)(specially the gay best friend in love with their straight friend, my absolute belothed) or any flavor of enemies-to-lovers, whether it's a tame rivals-to-lovers or a legit hero x villian (stockholm syndrome can be fine but it depends on how its presented....or if it's... y'know funny) or same-age shipping where the characters maturity levels are SO DRASTICALLY DIFFERENT idk it feels kinda icky :////

Hmmmm well the three main fandoms I kinda rotate thru currently are The Great Ace Attorney(brry), Metal Gear(otasune), and Dungeon Meshi (labru)

I can start with labru but I actually haven't read that many fanfic? Mostly cause when I first looked up the tags I was suprised there wasn't much fic at all. But also not suprised cause the anime hadn't even revealed kabrus 1 secret (and the anime wouldn't even touch his 2nd secret this last season 🥲) so I thought I'd just wait till fics start accumulating before diving back in (if anything I need recs lol)

Accurate Models of course. Its the first fic recc's to me and it even inspired some fanart lol modern au. Kabru becomes obessed with the youtuber that does monster dildo reviews

Let's see for otasune....well I'll warn u. Mgs is probably the least friendly diving in blind given that that the lore is just Insane. But also like some in game info reveals are just so so special....it flavors the lore....

depends on if i'm actually familiar with that other language or not, and how easy it is for the reader to get at translations (hover text or subscripts, depending), i myself probably won't be capable of doing so.

I kinda noticed something: most of your ships involve a mortal and an immortal/ones who age slower. Kayn and Zoe, Yasuo and Ahri, Yone(? Dunno about him, he's mortal but also not at the same time) and Lilia. One of them will outlive the other and will see their loved one pass on, how would they react? Good catch! I myself realized this not too long ago! But yeah, in League all of my ships are having this wacky side of one side being immortal/spiritual/magical while the other is an ordinary mortal ahaha I think the worst will be with Yone and Lillia, once Yone will kill all Azakanas and fulfill his goal he will come to a rest and Lillia will be left all alone while mouring about her close friend never ever returning to her, but at the same time being glad that he made the choice for his own good.

The second worst I think is Kayn and Zoe. Well, it is simple. because of Rhaast fully possessing him while Zoe did nothing to stop it because of how oblivious she is. ok i have a confession, i used to be a sort by word count++completed works only++exclude crossovers-kinda person 🤧🤧ANYWAY that was changed, now i only really exclude chat fics (ahaha,,,,theyre not really my go-to genre, like sure they're amusing but i read a really good one once* and it ruined every other chatfic for me)

i read* this jamikali fic (i like my ships with a bit [read: a LOT] of tragedy/disaster-ness to them. it's so so so compelling to read!) and i just love the "Dubiously Unrequited Love" tag. bcs yes, the feelings are technically mutual, but there is a whole slew of other factors keeping the relationship from being a thing, which it could be a thing, but there's also that awareness that it won't last, sometimes a couple doesn't have to be endgame for the love to mean something, ykw?

this entire oneshot series....has me in a chokehold... my introduction to "Non-Sexual Intimacy" (and "Non-Sexual Nudity" i guess?) like??? holy shit??? the tension?? the way op just encapsulates the poignancy of being in such a vulnerable position without teetering too much into the cliche of roëmænce it has me On My Knees!! (like i love my smut and romance cliches, but some days i jus want a liiiitle bit more spice and variety)

Shoutout to the "Unreliable Narrator"++"Ambiguous Ending" combi that reaaaaally makes you work for understanding the plot, idk how to word it but being able to leave Just Enough Breadcrumbs and having enough trust in your readers to Get what ur implying, also forcing me to reread the fic immediately is so foul (in a good way). like there's an enjoyment in a good satisfying read, and then there's the Itch of never being sure in your interpretation, the feeling that u just need to go over it another time, spot another detail u missed, get wrecked all over again, rinse and repeat. idk i love fic.

oh anything featuring my fave charas is sure to make me happy! i mean i'm just not super picky abt gifts. well, maybe a creative gift has to be smth that can last a long while? (a strong hoard-ability kaya idk im senti??)

as long as the thought and intent was there, i'm already happy enough🥰💕💕 but i guess in the context of getting fic gifted to you, probably what matters most to me is that the writer enjoyed the process of making it as well. Also wow I'm amazed you've put up with my everchanging fixations that long lol I know I'm annoying that whenever I'm into new fixation then I wudn't shut up abt it for a while and too lazy to ever make sideblogs. Anw, I don't really remember when I said that ahaha I'd most likely just joked or be sarcastic when I wrote that. I did feel so much pain knowing my otp is a doomed ship but it's nothing I didn't know before I even started jjk. Moreover it ended in a good note for me what with the latest chapters of them so it's all good now. The abundant loveable characters of jjk making it easy to explore other dynamics and ships too. Even dynamics I'd usually nvr entertain so it's been an eye opener experience! I don't regret a thing. Glad to know we share similar tastes :)

but yea I'm really not good with big fandoms overall and am usually content with the tiny corner of my own. My last experience with big fandoms, before I switched completely to obscure fandoms, were too unpleasant that I didn't wish to ever repeat it. But I'm more adept with curating what I wanna see now so I won't get put-off or get bored quickly. Tiny fandoms are nice and comfy but they were oftentimes unsustainable for me due to the lack of interactions. Still, I'm so happy to hear my shitposts could actually introduce you to new fixations!

Abt how I get into jjk. Well, unlike any other animes mangas I'm into, I actually have irl friends and coworkers that are fans of jjk. 3 of them are close to me (one of them is my spouse lol) and had literally pestered me to try it for long so they'd have someone to talk with. So I'd known about it since around 2 years ago when the movie came out. I was curious bcs it was such a hype around me even though they were all adults who usually didn't even watch anime so there must be sth different abt it. Yet I kept putting it off cz I was just not into supernatural fantasy shounen. I decided this year would be a good time to start since with season 2 the hype around me was too high that I just got swept in it, naturally. I cudn't tamp down my curiosity any longer plus I got time now during this break so why not, right? The thing is my irl friends arent into simping let alone shipping (at least not that I know in public, who knows what they might be doing in private) so I keep that side here ofc!

Awwwh thank you so much for letting me know you like my fic! Ch 236 was indeed devastating for a while tho it was still a HE in some aspects (for me). It's an outlet for me to pour my HCs for the characters that stuck with me. I always start out trying to respond to everything when i post a new fic, but then i get overwhelmed pretty quick. lo siento mucho.

I don't usually go for angsty endings tbh! I like a lot of angst in the middle, or i go for kind of bittersweet endings.

characterization; particularly I've gotten the feedback that i'm good at writing characters in different circumstances from canon while keeping their personalities both Intact and Logically Justifiable.

ending things, both in the sense that i start a lot of stuff and don't finish it, and the sense that i usually have too many ideas and don't know how/where to cut off a plot.

google translate always does me dirty so now i usually just write the dialogue in english and use a dialogue tag like "she said in *insert language*"

iiiiii think it was Rise of the Guardians! before that i mostly did over-dramatic RP on the cricket magazine forums where i had characters like a half-dragon bounty hunter.

probably the ishvalan elrics fic! fma is already full of a lot of meaty concepts, and it was fun re-conceptualizing the canon plot and character beats while keeping the arching plot intact. stuff like that is like a puzzle to me, it's very satisfying when i finish one and it gets positive feedback!

what are your writing strengths? i like to think i’m good at balancing crangst a lot. i’m physically incapable of not making things at least a little funny, and i love making blorbos suffer, so this gives me like… mad tragicomedy skills? also i'm pedantic about having plot threads followed up on and the ending being satisfying, so i Try! also i am, for reasons i cannot possibly explain, really good at writing weed fic. the person who knows what im talking about Knows Why and it stays in the grave.

what are your writing weaknesses? Actually Finishing Things, and Actually Hitting Post. those two are related. i have can't focus on one project for too long disease, and i’d feel guilty posting fics i might not come back to just out there, especially since i write non-linearly, so. yeah.

what are your thoughts on writing dialogue in other languages in a fic? i think it’s cool as fuck more writers should use languages nyehehehehehehe. i kinda do it when writing danmei fics because untranslatable terms are fully undodgeable in that one, so.. can't say i've ever complained

what’s your favourite fic you’ve written? and, there’s the question i knew immediately how to answer. where the dog lies is a [tgaa] time travel/massive canon divergence fic, and as much as i’m not tgaabrained right now, i know i will come back to writing it, because it’s genuinely my magnum opus, my best fucking work ever. talking about it as a time travel is true but feels a bit reductive, because in the time travel concept is a hidden character analysis/recovery fic that i’ve legit cried about leaning over the keyboard. something that can be so deeply personal. like i WILL finish it one day once i fall back into the tgaa hole it’s my favourite thing ever that i’ve made as a creative.

Saudade’s Affair probably comes on top even if like 5 people read it lol it’s my first ever series that i’ve actually carried through with and planned and didn’t delete after like two chapters cuz i gave up ahahaha that story has a special place in my heart and so does josiah trelawny, thinking of him and that story bring me so much comfort and happiness and i can’t wait to keep writing it when my god damn brain lets me. Nice Necklace was my first ever max fic and i’d been wanting to make my own max fic for like 2.5 years since i’ve played tow and that fic got me back into writing and was also oh so purely self indulgent lol.

andromeda shun remains a really important character to me, for both his embodiment of kindness and the radical gender space he occupied. like!! look here. hyoshun was the very first queer ship I let myself care about, and I felt enormously transgressive about it when I wrote them having a single kiss in a oneshot i never published because I was scared to. I still have it in a notebook upstairs! maybe i could post it now, ahahahahah. baby’s first queer story!! :D

i was really disappointed with the decision to cisswap him in the netflix adaptation because it felt like an undoing of so much that made his character compelling. there was something so extraordinarily powerful about a character who was completely confident in his masculinity, regardless of what other people said, regardless of what kind of gender roles he occupied: he cried easily and freely, in happiness and sorrow, was violent only as a last resort, chose kindness over everything else, fought under an explicitly female constellation, with an extremely feminine armor design (pink with pseudo-boob plates LMFAO), but was also the most powerful member of the team, the first bronze saint to access the eighth sense (i think?? oh my god someone canon-check me, it’s been a LONG time since I read/watched it), and canonically the purest soul on earth!!! 

(this is not to say that saint seiya was like, gender radical~ to be clear. it remains wildly misogynist LMFAO like. mother FUCK kurumada!! there was SUCH potential for interesting character beats with every fucking woman, and none of them got them 8)))) like, every girl in that story had excellent potential!!! i will FOREVER be pissed about how we didn’t get shun & june friendship development HHHHH i have been bitter about this since i was 12 and no i will NEVER stop!! do i have specific hcs about how they fell into a relationship bc of shared trauma + proximity and then realized they were better off as friends, broke up amicably, and remained extremely close for the rest of their lives?? yes, don’t worry about how the canon timeline is so fucked it wouldn’t allow for that since shun canonically spends like, 95% of his time post andromeda island in life-or-death battles, on life support, or the host of the ultimate enemy. and then i think 250 years in the past, maybe?? i haven’t read next dimension L O L)

what i would have GIVEN for fem Ikki or Seiya or Shiryu instead!!! (i’m excluding hyoga for a couple of reasons, but he still would’ve been better than shun) god imagine the POWER of phoenix/andromeda sister/brother dynamics! for all the reasons that a gentle man is compelling, a vicious, arrogant, selfish, cruel woman that refuses to die ALSO would have been incredible as a protag. (basically, what we COULD have had with shaina goddamn it!!) imagine sapphic ikki/esmeralda!!! or shiryu/shunrei, or seiya/any woman that the series decided to throw at him lol.

anyways, circling back around to the original point, I would say saint seiya was one of the most influential animes of the 80s, and remains listed with series like dragonball, sailor moon, ranma, etc. in most parts of the world that experienced an anime boom, except the united states?? like, asia obviously, and I know it was popular in europe (particularly france and belgium) and latin america (latin america truly carries this fandom outside of asia like damn), but somehow, the states really missed out :’) i suspect it has to do with cartoon network botching the release of the dub /shrug

saint seiya definitely occupies a culturally significant position in china (i remember when I was obsessed with it in middle school, I visited china and several of my family members were like what??? saint seiya?? that’s such a violent show!! for boys!!! whereas in the states, almost no one recognizes the name) so it wouldn’t surprise me at all if it was an intentional reference. or ripoff AHAHA

as an aside, wen ning and shun also have pretty easily comparable character notes: eg. kind and soft, but extraordinarily dangerous when either pissed off or fighting seriously; perceived as enormously weak/shy/sensitive, but are secretly very talented in a specific martial skill; the whole “harbors a horrific evil force within” thing and fighting for control over it--so frankly, i love it, even if it’s 100% Not That Deep. i understand that this is a somewhat generic character archetype, but i am just like. That archetype with Those chains? 👀

I'm happy enough with all of them!! I take the easy way out most of the time with titling fics and don't tend to spend too much time thinking about them because i get impatient

2. How many are…not great?

hmmmm like i said they're all kind of just normal, i don't think theyre spectacular but i don't think any of them are bad per se. i guess my least favorite is Shielded Heart cause its CORNY. 

3. How many did you scramble for at the last minute?

Every single one. I don't name a fic until i'm done with it (or in Jareor's case until i'm done with the first chapter). and then i have to just have to stare at a wall and figure out what to title it. until i'm done with them theyre either called 'prompt (blank)', 'ship (blank), or 'untitled document 7'. 

4. How many did you know before you started writing/creating, or near the beginning?

I almost never use song lyrics in my titles simply because my brain doesnt remember song lyrics until the song is playing. i also tend to listen to instrumental music/ soundtracks. i do NOT read poems cause they dont vibe with my adhd.

well, half of these fics are mando'a words, so that technically counts. Haryc B'aalyc means 'tired and emotional (ie drunk and sad lol), and Jareor means 'to recklessly risk your life, act suicidally'

7. Which best reflects the plot of the story/content of the fanwork?

Well Haryc B'aalyc quite literally describes exactly what is happening in the fic. Fox is drunk and sad. Easy peasy.

8. Which best reflects the theme of the story?

(brain short circuits when trying to remember what a "theme" is) Probably Desaturated or Jareor. Desaturated has a bit of a double meaning, it's about mourning and loss, but also has context within the story. but i'll leave that off since i havent posted it yet ;)

9. Which best reflects the character voice of the story/pov of the fanwork?

Jareor is the mando'a word that i decided to base my characterization of Fox around. He's suicidally reckless, and will risk his life and put himself in dangerous situations to save his brothers.
